All these critters finally made their appearance late in the afternoon. There were plenty of antelope and lots of birds, mostly
vultures and eagles. The baboons were plentyful in the afternoon as well. Two different giraffes were seen at one time. A Masai race and a Reticulate race giraffe. Watching
the giraffe drink shows how vulnerable they are to attack by a lion. It takes them 20 seconds or more to get up to their feet so they can run.
Elephants were few but the ones we saw we large, especially this old tusker on the right.

But perhaps the most memorable part of the day was the fantastic spot we had for lunch. Overlooking the river valley we watch the storms come in.

In a few months the green valley below will be covered with thousands of zebra and wildebeest.

As we headed back to the camp I kept thinking, I hope Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti have more action than this. The night proved to be a rainy one again
and in the morning we were greeted to a beautiful sunset, wet, but still beautiful. We were getting a bit worried maybe the rains were here to stay.

Back to the main page for the next day.
