It's remarkable that a four second exposure with a digital camera will render
sufficient detail without the use of a clock drive. I have found
the extra sensitivity of a digital camera can be useful. In this case, the short
exposure was fast and did not require setting up an equatorialmount for the exposure. Of course, a fast lens such as the Nikon f/2.8 does
help in the process.
