The Minotaur 1 carried a demo satellite payload into a polar orbit for the National Reconnaissance Office. Minotaur vehicles have been carrying satellite payloads into orbit since 2000. The rocket can also be launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, Wallops Island, Virginia and Kodiak Island, Alaska
