| Acorn Woodpecerk Melanerpes formicivorus This is a very common woodpecker found in California, especially
where there are plenty of nuts and seeds to gather. Acorn Woodpeckers in my backyard take advantage of the various bird feeders
and often compete with the song birds on the feeders. Their comical flights are highlighted by their screeching and undulating flight patterns. Backyard, Goleta, California. |
