Galván has a B.A. in Photojournalism from Colorado State University and an M.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Colorado. A strong love of the outdoors comes from working for the Colorado Outward Bound School. In addition, his hobbies of flying, fishing, kayaking, scuba and astronomy have helped him "see" beyond the camera. His photographic skills were honed while working as a scientific photographer for the National Center for Atmospheric Research
